Some Notes on Modeling the Semantic Flow of Narratives

This report summarizes our investigations into modeling semantics and coherence in narratives, which has applications in many NLP tasks. We study MCTest, a recently designed task for machine comprehension, which contains multiple-answer questions about paragraph-long fictional stories. Our focus is on creating useful meaningrepresentations for modeling stories and interaction of characters in stories, which we explain thoroughly. The work on some final ideas is ongoing.
